Bumble is expanding its analytical function and we are looking for a programmer analyst to help standardise and further develop our multi-platform toolkit. You will work closely with colleagues from across our BI org, both directly and indirectly facilitating impact to all functions of the business. Responsible for analysing datasets, identifying specifications and designing architecture to build software packages, building and maintaining packages to support the fast-paced analytical functions at Bumble, coding and testing programs and providing production support and technical assistance to other analysts. This position encourages creative thinking and depends on the ability to work productively with a wide range of team members. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain tools and packages used by data science and analytics teams at Bumble
  • Ability to take a project from RFP/SOW/BRD to delivery: project management, requirements gathering, data architecture, workflow management, quality assurance, reporting and visualisation, presentation.
  • Consult with and analyse the users’ needs to ensure the analysis and developed tools fulfil required needs.
  • Analyse/design system flows and develop/code program specification to ensure the agreed upon requirements are met.
  • Test the developed tools thoroughly to ensure all expected results are verified and discrepancies are resolved.
  • Conduct walk-through and training for user/client and other technical team members to ensure product is understood and meets requested needs.
  • Modify existing packages to ensure that changing needs of the user are met.
  • Prioritise/handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while remaining on task.
  • Fully own + continuously update documentation for the maintenance and modification of all developed solutions.

EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Experience with package development in Python and R. Specifically, experience with object oriented programming and unit testing.
  • Experience with SQL, PySpark, etc.
  • Python: pandas, scikit-learn, statsmodels, matplotlib, seaborn, plotly, ggplot (any of the above) - R equivalent equally a plus
  • Strong working knowledge of statistics 
  • Understanding of, and ability to build models for inference or prediction (regression, classification etc)
  • Understanding and ability to build modules to perform unsupervised approaches (such as dimensionality reduction, clustering, etc.)
  • Experience with Version Control software such as git
  • Excellent attention to detail, and a clear and concise writing style
  • Experience leveraging Tableau/Looker/MicroStrategy or other data viz/dashboarding platforms is a nice to have
